Meet Dr. Stephen Ely

Dr. Stephen Ely trained at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston, where he received his Doctorate of Medical Dentistry. He graduated first in his class and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. He stayed on at Harvard to complete his Master of Medical Science and specialty training in orthodontics. During his seven years at Harvard, Dr. Ely received extensive training in medicine, dentistry, and the orthodontic treatment of children and adults.

Dr. Ely earned his undergraduate degree in biology at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, PA. He graduated as valedictorian of his class and earned Academic All-American honors as a member and captain of the wrestling team.

Prior to starting his practice in Bethlehem, Dr. Ely worked for six years as a partner in a large orthodontic office in Danvers, MA. He is a clinical instructor of orthodontics at Harvard University and a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. Dr. Ely is also a member of the Harvard Society for the Advancement of Orthodontics, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Lehigh Valley Dental Society, the Pennsylvania Dental Association, and the American Dental Association.

Dr. Ely moved to Bethlehem to be nearer to his parents and open his own practice. He resides in Bethlehem with his wife Herta and their son George. In addition to practicing orthodontics, Dr. Ely enjoys martial arts, weightlifting, cycling, cooking, fishing, and rooting for the Boston Red Sox!
